Gluten Free & Allergen Friendly Expo Ticket Giveaway!
So sometimes, all of this dealing with food allergies and sensitivities makes me feel like a crabby old lady. Going to the grocery store can put me into a funk. It’s great that there are so many gluten free and allergy-friendly products on the shelves nowadays, but it feels like I can eat like 0.04 percent of them because I’m sensitive to a million other things. Some days I don’t even bother getting my hopes up and won’t look at new gluten free products. Because of that, I’m sure there are great gluten free products our there that I haven’t tried. So I’m really excited to go to the Gluten Free & Allergen Friendly Expo to see what new products are out there. I’m giving away tickets too (so read on!).
If you haven’t heard of it, the GF&AF Expo calls itself the biggest gluten free and allergen friendly event in the U.S. There are events all over the country, with the next one right here in Massachusetts on Saturday, July 25. Not only do they cater to the celiac/gluten free community, they also welcome those dealing with autism and autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Lots of vendors will be present, so I look forward to torturing them with questions about their products and whether they contain any other things we avoid. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to report back to you on what products are free from the top 8 allergens and seeds (which include sesame, sunflower, safflower, flax, and my newest enemy, canola oil). And for the two or three of you out there who, like me, avoid tapioca starch, I’ll let you know what products you can have too. 🙂
Why You Should Attend
For the cost of admission (or for free, if you win a ticket from me!) you get all of the following:
- A FREE Subscription to Delight Gluten Free Magazine ($24 value)*
- Entry into the vendor fair with over 100 brands
- Valuable coupons at the vendor booths
- FREE samples from the vendors
- Discounted products available for purchase
- Informative classes related to the gluten free and allergen-friendly lifestyle
- Free reusable bag to carry your goodies
- Meet your favorite vendors, authors and bloggers (like me 🙂 )
I can’t wait to find out about new products and meet more people in our gluten free and allergy friendly community!
Classes
At the Worcester event, there will be three speakers/classes:
“How To Cook, So They Will Eat” Chef Oonagh, who has a Culinary Arts degree, always cooks from scratch with real ingredients and is familiar with and cooks many International cuisines regularly. Expand your horizons with real food, much of it is naturally gluten free and easily free from other allergens.
“Gluten Free 101: Get All Your Questions Answered” If you have been gluten free for less than a year, this is the class for you! You will learn all the tips and tricks to having a successful gluten free and allergen friendly life.
“Is My Medication Making Me Sick?” Some medications contain gluten as an inactive ingredient of tablets and capsules. How do you know if YOURS does? Can my pharmacist help me? Is there information on avoiding other medication ingredients that I want to, or need to, exclude from my diet?
I wish there were classes like these available to me when I went gluten free a long time ago.
